Meet Ingrid Morrison
IM Bookkeping Services is me – bookkeeping services provided personally by me. I must admit accounting used to be my most hated subject at business school back in Estonia. I think I just passed the related subjects. My passion was hospitality, from waitressing to restaurant management I qualified every profession but chef on this area. Then after moving to Australia in 2002 through my studies of International Business I was stuck again with accounting subject, this time International Finances and Corporate Accounting. I had a professor who changed my point of view of accounting – he actually made subject that interesting and engaging I started to enjoy it. Then one day in 2004 I became a bookkeeper overnight at the flip of the faith.
I’ll never forget my first day – I had 18 employees payroll, 30 suppliers monthly bills and monthly tax to pay. I had no idea where to start. Luckily I had a mentor who had lots of patience. Then from that day onwards I have taken all possible trainings and courses to master myself to be excellent bookkeeper and BAS agent, well actually now a Trainer of Cert IV Accounting as well. I am finding it actually exciting and sexy industry on the way.
I have made lots of great friends in the industry and I must say they/we are not boring, plated skirt and glasses wearing race, we love our industry and always in the progress for making changes. Matching it all with 13 years in hospitality both side of the world, 10 years of being part of running family business from accounting side I believe I can offer good, personalised and matched for clients need services. I do understand when wives with no industry education nor experiences like to jump in and help out their husbands in their family business while running household and being Mum Taxi. It can be so hard and overwhelming.
My motivation is to help out small businesses setting up and helping them on bookkeeping side and keep them on track with always changing business/bookkeeping world.
My vision it to be a loyal, trustworthy, personal and professional service provider.
